Taiwan coastal areas warned of seawater intrusion from astronomical tides

Meteorological experts have issued warnings for Taiwan regarding astronomical tides occurring between September 27 and September 30. During this period, high water levels are expected along the western coast and in Penghu, increasing the risk of seawater intrusion and localized flooding in low-lying areas from New Taipei to Changhua.

Weather forecasts for various regions, including Chiayi, Taitung, and Taichung, indicate generally sunny to cloudy conditions with temperatures ranging between 23 and 35 degrees Celsius. While the weather remains mostly clear, residents in coastal areas are advised to monitor drainage and avoid prolonged stays in ports or intertidal zones due to the tidal fluctuations.
