Huanggang Port prepares for opening with new transport links

Preparations are entering the final stages for the opening of the new Huanggang Port, a cross-boundary checkpoint in Hong Kong. Commissioner of Customs and Excise Chan Tsz-tat recently led an inspection of the facility to ensure operational readiness, focusing on staff training and the commissioning of new lane equipment.

The port will feature Hong Kong’s first unified one-stop vehicle lanes, designed to allow motorists to complete both immigration and customs formalities in a single stop. This system aims to reduce queues for private cars, coaches, and goods vehicles traveling between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

In conjunction with the facility's opening, the Transport Department has released the fare structure for public transport serving the port. The network includes seven franchised bus routes and six green minibus services. Key routes include KMB’s overnight service NB73 from Sha Tin and the B10 from Kwai Chung Estate, which offers a fare of HK$12.1. Citybus will provide the first franchised link between Hong Kong Island East and the checkpoint via route B13, priced at HK$27.6.
