Huautla residents question pet sterilization hygiene
Residents of Huautla have raised concerns regarding the sanitary conditions of a recent pet sterilization campaign organized by the municipal government's Ecology and Environment department. The event, held on August 22 at the municipal presidency plaza, involved canine and feline procedures for which owners paid 399 pesos.
Citizens reported that some animals were operated on using cardboard, rags, or directly on the floor, sparking fears regarding hygiene. Furthermore, photographic evidence allegedly shows a lack of proper protective equipment, such as gloves, during certain surgeries. There are also unverified claims from residents suggesting that some procedures may not have been performed by qualified veterinarians. Local authorities have yet to clarify the professional credentials of the staff or the specific sanitary protocols implemented during the session.
