Huawei Cloud and Tencent drive AI office agent expansion in China

The landscape of AI-powered office productivity in China is shifting as major tech firms consolidate their AI agent offerings and expand into specialized hardware environments.

Huawei Cloud has upgraded its OfficeClaw AI agent to OfficeAce, repositioning it as a general-purpose agent for both individual and enterprise scenarios. The new service utilizes a “subscription + points” model, offering tiered plans for individuals and comprehensive digital employee workstations for enterprises. OfficeAce aims to integrate directly into corporate business processes by connecting to existing systems and automating workflows.

Simultaneously, major players like Tencent, Alibaba, and ByteDance have streamlined their AI office products. Tencent’s WorkBuddy has emerged as a market leader in terms of PC monthly visits. To overcome the limitations of pure cloud-based agents—which often cannot access secure internal networks or specialized hardware—Tencent has partnered with Lenovo. Through Lenovo’s Kaitian AI PC and its “Wujie” compatibility solution, WorkBuddy can operate within Xinchuang (domestic innovation) environments, allowing AI agents to function in highly regulated sectors like government and finance without requiring secondary development or virtual machines.
