Tencent WorkBuddy AI Office Suite Development

In late July 2026 Tencent expanded its AI‑driven office offering, WorkBuddy. On July 27 the suite debuted on Huawei’s HarmonyOS PC AppGallery, becoming the first AI office assistant on that platform and introducing a "Touch‑to‑Share" capability that leverages the OS’s low‑level functions. The same announcement highlighted Meituan’s launch of the CatPaw AI Agent platform, a separate service for automating store‑related tasks.

Three days later, on July 30, Tencent rolled out a major upgrade to WorkBuddy, adding a "human‑AI double writing" feature that lets users give natural‑language instructions to edit documents, spreadsheets, presentations and Markdown files directly within Tencent Docs or local Office files. The enhancement supports real‑time multi‑user collaboration across Windows, macOS, HarmonyOS and Android, and integrates with Tencent Meeting, Netdisk and TAPD, positioning WorkBuddy as a unified AI‑native office system.

Together, the releases show Tencent’s rapid push to embed generative AI throughout its productivity tools and broaden compatibility with multiple operating systems.
