ZTE and Huawei launch AI and token‑monetisation initiatives at MWC Shanghai 2026

At Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2026, ZTE announced a partnership with the GSMA to co‑locate its 15th Global Summit & User Congress with the GSMA M360 ASEAN event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, under the theme “Architecting Infinity – From Connectivity to Digital Value.” The joint two‑day programme will feature keynotes, panels, product showcases and discussions on future networks, AI‑enabled infrastructure and regional digital‑economic growth.

ZTE’s chief development officer Cui Li delivered a keynote titled “Unlocking Value and Embracing Uncertainty in the AI Era,” outlining the company’s “All‑in‑AI, AI for All” strategy that embeds AI‑native capabilities across its products and builds a resilient, agile AI system.

Huawei also used the MWC platform to unveil a suite of innovations aimed at “byte and token” monetisation. The company highlighted the integration of services, networks and compute, 5G‑Advanced high‑uplink, AI‑powered business upgrades and token‑based revenue models, and introduced an AI‑centric target network that shifts from traffic‑centric to real‑time interaction‑centric architecture.

Together, the announcements signal a concerted push by leading Chinese telecom vendors to drive AI‑driven network evolution and new monetisation models for global carriers.
