Huawei unveils Pura X View smartphone with wide display
Huawei has introduced the Pura X View, a smartphone designed to challenge standard mobile dimensions by utilizing a wide 16:9.5 aspect ratio. Positioned as a candybar-style device optimized for content consumption, it aims to provide an enhanced experience for video, gaming, and multitasking without the need for a foldable design.
The device features a 6.39-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2232 x 1320 pixels and a peak brightness of 6500 nits. Engineering highlights include ultra-thin 1.05 mm bezels, resulting in a 96.1% screen-to-body ratio. Despite housing a large 7000 mAh battery, the phone maintains a slim profile of 6.68 mm and weighs 201 grams.
Technical specifications include the Kirin 9030s chipset, 12 GB of RAM, and a triple 50-megapixel rear camera system. The device will run on HarmonyOS 7 and supports microSD expansion up to 1 TB. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin on August 20, 2026, with official sales following on August 28, 2026.
