Hue Citadel restoration project faces delays due to land clearance issues

The project to preserve, restore, and renovate the Hue Citadel system is facing significant delays due to unresolved land clearance issues. While major construction contracts are largely complete, remaining restoration work is stalled because over 360 households have not yet handed over their land.

In specific areas such as Eo Bau, difficulties persist with several households refusing to relocate. In the Eo Bau Nam Hung area, work has reached 70% completion but cannot proceed further due to a single household remaining at a key site. Additionally, many residents in the upper citadel area, particularly along Xuan 68 Street in Phu Xuan Ward, have not yet moved.

Some residents have expressed willingness to relocate but are seeking resolution regarding resettlement rights and benefits. Local project management boards are calling for municipal intervention to resolve these disputes and ensure the project can meet its intended schedule.
