Vietnam authorities dismantle major drug and gambling rings

Authorities in Vietnam are conducting major legal proceedings against large-scale criminal networks. In Ho Chi Minh City, the trial for the VN10 drug case has commenced, involving 227 defendants. The case includes high-profile individuals such as singer Chi Dan and model An Tay, who face charges related to organizing the use of narcotics.

Separately, Ho Chi Minh City police have dismantled a massive online gambling ring. The investigation revealed a sophisticated network using various betting websites and multiple bank accounts, with total transaction values estimated at nearly 560 billion VND. Authorities have detained 40 suspects and seized electronic devices and documents related to the operation.

In another incident, Hue police intercepted a smuggling ring transporting approximately 9,300 electric detonators from Laos into Vietnam via long-haul buses. Two suspects have been detained as investigations continue to identify other members of the ring.
