Huelva Council launches 2026 Colombinas booth decoration contest
The Huelva City Council has opened a new edition of the Decoration Competition for the booths (casetas) of the Fiestas Colombinas 2026. The contest aims to recognise the effort and creativity of the fairground booths in enhancing the festival’s ambience and identity. The first‑place prize is €1,000, while a second prize of €500 – funded by the Palos de la Frontera municipality – has been added. Applications must be submitted online by 00:00 on Monday 27 July, with one entry per booth signed by its owner or representative. The jury will visit the booths on 29 July from 23:00, and the results will be announced on 30 July at 21:00 by Mayor Pilar Miranda and Culture Councillor Nacho Molina. The council may also award a special mention for outstanding decoration, or declare the prize vacant if standards are not met.
