Huelva sets dates for 2026 Colombinas festival and opens renovated Casa Colón
The city of Huelva has announced that the 2026 Colombinas festivities will run from 29 July to 3 August, with a single public holiday on Monday 3 August. The week‑long celebration commemorates Christopher Columbus’s departure in 1492 and will feature concerts, attractions and more than fifty fairground booths along the river.
On 20 July, Huelva will hold a free open‑house event at the newly refurbished Casa Colón. The renovation, funded by the EU’s Next Generation EU programme, adds energy‑efficient climate and lighting systems, improves accessibility and creates sustainable tourist facilities. Guided tours will showcase the restored façade, historic Chimney Hall and new interpretation centres for the British legacy and the building itself. After the upgrades, Casa Colón will serve as the city’s main tourist‑information hub and a venue for cultural activities.
