Emergency services in Spain, Mexico, and Ecuador undergo reforms and training

Various regional authorities and humanitarian organizations are implementing training and structural reforms to enhance emergency response capabilities.

In Huelva, Spain, the City Council has undergone a major reorganization of its Municipal Civil Protection Service. Led by Manuel Romero, the initiative includes revitalizing the vehicle fleet, acquiring a new all-terrain vehicle and ambulance, and increasing volunteer training by fourfold. The city has also established Advanced Command Posts for large events and updated municipal emergency plans.

In Mexico, several training initiatives are underway. The Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Chihuahua (Cobach) provided first aid training to over 100 faculty and staff members. In Tequisquiapan, Querétaro, more than 50 ‘Peace Promoters’ received instruction in first aid, fire prevention, and drill organization through the ‘First Alerts’ program.

In Ecuador, the Red Cross has conducted first aid workshops for private sector employees in Tungurahua to strengthen workplace safety. Additionally, a mobile medical unit and brigade from the Red Cross Imbabura, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health, provided preventive medical care to the community of Yuracruz to improve healthcare access in remote areas.
