Huelva's AIQBE adds Ariema to boost green hydrogen production
The Association of Chemical, Basic and Energy Industries of Huelva (AIQBE) has admitted Ariema as a new member, bringing its total to 22 companies and one public entity as it marks its 40th anniversary. Ariema, a veteran Spanish green‑hydrogen firm with wholly Spanish ownership and proprietary alkaline electrolyser technology, will lead the proposal to install Spain’s first fully integrated electrolyser manufacturing plant in Huelva. The project is slated for an annual capacity of 200 MW and is expected to create more than 300 direct jobs in the province. AIQBE president Juan del Olmo highlighted the move as a “very important step” for strengthening the Huelva industrial hub and positioning the region as a strategic centre for the energy transition. AIQBE's 2024 investment approaches €750 million, underscoring the economic weight of the initiative.
