Huila to host 2026 Environmental Week

The 2026 Environmental Week in Huila, Colombia, is scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 6. Under the theme ‘Climate action: local responses to the global challenge’, the event will feature a diverse program of festivals, forums, and workshops across eight municipalities, including Neiva, Pitalito, and San Agustín.

Key activities include the XI National Andean Bear and Mountain Tapir Festival, a birdwatching festival in Neiva, and various specialized meetings for environmental NGOs, teachers, and youth. Additionally, a series of climate change workshops will be held in several municipalities to help local territories identify specific responses to environmental challenges. The week will conclude with an environmental cycling route along the Las Ceibas river basin in Neiva.
