Huixquilucan expands integrated care for 1,270 seniors
Municipal president Romina Contreras Carrasco announced that more than 1,270 older adults in Huixquilucan are receiving comprehensive services through 32 senior clubs, seven day‑care centers and the Centro Gerontológico “Sagrado Corazón”. The program provides medical care, psychological support, legal advice, balanced nutrition (10,500 food portions) and a schedule of over 180 educational, recreational, sports and occupational‑therapy activities.
During the Fifth Ordinary Session of the Edilicia Commission for Vulnerable Groups, Gender Equality, Sexual Diversity and Persons with Disabilities, officials reported more than 5,500 trainings delivered in senior clubs and 80 events aimed at promoting socialization, active aging and the preservation of cognitive function. The local government reaffirmed its commitment to dignified, inclusive care that respects the rights and autonomy of the elderly.
