Huixquilucan Municipal Government Completes 20 Itinerant Human Rights Outreach Sessions

The municipality of Huixquilucan, Mexico, concluded a series of 20 itinerant Human Rights Days during the first half of the year. Staff from the Municipal Human Rights Defender’s Office visited 49 neighborhoods, offering free legal advice, rights‑awareness events and training for both residents and public servants.

Municipal president Romina Contreras Carrasco highlighted that the initiative brings legal assistance directly to households, allowing officials to hear urgent concerns and promote preventative education. Defender Mario Benito Fierro added that the program aims to sensitize the population, prevent abuses and support vulnerable groups, and confirmed that the outreach will continue.

The outreach locations included communities such as Agua Blanca, El Cerrito, El Olivo, La Cañada, Magdalena Chichicaspa, San Fernando, San Martín, and Zacamulpa, among others. Citizens were encouraged to contact the Defender’s office at the municipal administrative centre for follow‑up assistance.
