Hull City, owned by Acun Ilıcalı, gears up for Premier League debut

Turkish media entrepreneur Acun Ilıcalı, who purchased Hull City in the 2021‑22 season, saw the club win the Championship play‑off final and secure promotion to the English Premier League. Ilıcalı told German data site Transfermarkt that the club will operate with a budget of around €150 million, planning to add 11‑12 new players while aiming first to avoid relegation and later to qualify for European competition.

To celebrate the club’s return to top‑flight football, Ilıcalı’s media arm AF Travel is organising a special fan tour that will take supporters to the opening Premier League match against Manchester United, offering a packaged stadium experience for the season’s first home game.
