Various solidarity and human rights events are scheduled in Spain to address Middle Eastern and Sahrawi issues.

In Oviedo, the Asociación Asturiana de Solidaridad con el Pueblo Saharaui (AAPS) will host a gala on October 10 at the Auditorio Príncipe Felipe. The event commemorates the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (RASD) and will feature musical and comedic performances by artists such as Jordi Évole and Nacho Vegas. The AAPS intends to use the event to highlight the situation in Western Sahara, specifically regarding human rights defenders and natural resource exploitation.

In Torrejón de Ardoz, activist Manuel García Morales will present his book, ‘Diario a bordo del Sirius’, on October 8. The work documents his experience with the Global Sumud Flotilla, an international mission that attempted to deliver aid to Gaza before being intercepted by Israel. Proceeds from the book sales will be directed to Gaza.

Additionally, in Madrid, the organization Samidoun, in collaboration with Madrid con Palestina, is hosting a talk on October 7. The event features released Palestinian prisoners Nader Sadaqa and Jaser al-Barghuthi, who will share their experiences of captivity and subsequent release through prisoner exchanges.
