Human rights concerns reported in China involving Falun Gong practitioners and activists

Reports indicate ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners across several Chinese provinces, including Jilin, Hebei, Shandong, Tianjin, Liaoning, and Gansu. In Changchun, Jilin, two practitioners were reportedly abducted and detained in a detention center. In Hebei, a practitioner in Zaoqiang County remains missing after being taken by plainclothes individuals, while another in Cheng'an County has been detained.

In Shandong, a 72-year-old woman in Qingdao reportedly suffered severe physical and mental deterioration following detention and a house search. Additionally, a practitioner in Qingdao's Huangdao District was sentenced to four years in prison and has appealed the decision. In Liaoning, multiple police stations in Lingyuan have been accused of harassing practitioners and their families through phone calls.

Separately, human rights activist Xing Wangli, currently serving time in Sanmenxia Prison in Henan, has reported experiencing abuse. His family alleges he has been subjected to excessive labor, corporal punishment, and poor nutrition, leading to significant physical decline. Xing, who has a history of legal activism, was sentenced to three years for ‘picking quarrels and provoking trouble’ in 2025.
