Human Rights Group Condemns Forced Disappearances of Baloch Civilians, Demands Pakistan Answer

The Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department said four Baloch civilians have been forcibly disappeared after alleged operations by Pakistani security and intelligence agencies. It named the victims: Arif, the son of Yaseen, taken on July 24 from Gwadar’s Palliri area; Atik Khetran, son of Rafik from Barkhan, seized on July 21 by state security forces; Miran Baloch, a 25‑year‑old student from Khulān, vanished on July 23 near Quetta’s Bashir Chowk; and Nasir Baloch, an 18‑year‑old student from Quetta’s Sarab Road, taken on March 27. The department blames the Pakistan Military Intelligence (MI) and the Counter‑Terrorism Department (CTD) for involvement.

It called the incidents a serious breach of international human‑rights law and urged the Pakistani government to disclose the whereabouts of the missing, ensure their safety, and either release them or present them before a civilian court. The group also demanded an independent, transparent investigation and the provision of justice and assistance to the victims’ families.
