Human rights publications launched in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia

A scholarly book on the evolution of human rights and freedoms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, "Ljudska prava i slobode u BiH 1910–1995 – kontinuitet ustavnih rješenja," was presented on 30 June in Čitluk. The work, authored by Prof. Ivona Šego‑Marić, traces constitutional provisions from 1910 to the post‑war constitution and was praised as a “readable legal treatise” by Prof. Zlatko Brkić. The author said, “Nema ljepšeg osjećaja nego rad i plod dugogodišnjeg truda donijeti kući, među svoje ljude.”

On 21 August in Zagreb, the Bosnian Embassy hosted the launch of the handbook “Nevidljiva djeca,” which examines the legal status of children born from wartime sexual violence in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. Co‑author Iris Knežević emphasized that “Nevidljiva djeca … desetljećima su bila marginalizirana, obilježena stigmom i diskriminacijom” and warned that “šutnja nije neutralna opcija.” The guide seeks to spur dialogue and policy reform in Croatia, which currently does not recognize this group as a distinct rights‑bearing category.
