Humanitarian aid drives active in Croatia and Montenegro
Humanitarian organizations in Croatia and Montenegro are reporting significant activity in providing aid to socially vulnerable populations.
In Koprivnica, Croatia, Adela Sočev, director of the City Red Cross Society, stated that approximately 1,200 users across 11 municipalities rely on humanitarian aid, including food and hygiene supplies. The organization distributes about 2,000 packages annually, averaging over 150 per month. In the first half of the year, they secured 60 tons of donations. The Red Cross also supplements its community kitchen through daily collections of near-expiry produce from retailers like Lidl and Kaufland.
In Montenegro, the ‘Autumn Harvest Festival’ humanitarian campaign, organized by NGO Naša akcija and Arcadia Akademija, has been extended due to high donor response. The initiative aims to support vulnerable families in Kotor and Tivat, as well as the Caritas soup kitchen. Donors are providing food, clothing, footwear, and funds for heating and groceries, with volunteers coordinating home pickups.
