Nusa Tenggara Timur earthquake relief efforts expand across multiple sectors
Various organizations and government agencies are conducting relief operations for earthquake victims in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). The Ministry of Public Works has confirmed that all national roads and bridges affected by the earthquake and landslides in the region have returned to normal function.
In terms of education and social support, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology announced that 5,000 students affected by the earthquake will receive one semester of free tuition. Additionally, the Ocean Week community donated Rp 30 million specifically for the repair of the SDK Rewas elementary school in Manggarai Barat. The Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services also raised Rp 1.8 billion in donations for the victims.
Logistical and basic needs assistance is ongoing. Baznas is operating a public kitchen in Reok, Manggarai, providing 250 food portions daily. YBM PLN EPI distributed essential food supplies to 41 families in Nangamese Village, Ngada. PT Multi Harapan Utama, in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, has provided tarps, blankets, mats, and food to villages in Reok, Manggarai. Pertamina NRE has also supplied generators, gas stoves, and baby supplies to residents in Watubaur Village.
