Vietnam police investigate cross-border murder and robbery

Vietnamese authorities are processing several high-profile criminal cases involving murder, robbery, and fraud.

The Ministry of Public Security has initiated a major investigation into a cross-border crime spree involving murder, robbery, and illegal immigration. A group led by Nguyen The Du targeted a grocery and currency exchange shop in Bavet, Svay Rieng, Cambodia. The suspects attacked a family, resulting in the death of Mr. Sam Hak and injuries to his wife and daughter. The group stole approximately $100,000 USD, 30 taels of gold, and 600 million VND before fleeing back to Vietnam via the Binh Hiep border gate.

In Hung Yen province, the People's Court issued a death sentence to Kieu Ngoc Anh for murder and robbery. The defendant used a knife to kill two individuals during a robbery attempt in the Pho Noi A Industrial Zone.

Other recent legal actions include the arrest of Do Quoc Vuong in Ho Chi Minh City for a knife-point robbery at a coffee shop, and the prosecution of Nguyen Hoang Quan for using forged documents to claim credit for assisting police in previous investigations.
