Hung Yen Police warn of digital wedding invitation scams

The Hung Yen Provincial Police have issued a warning regarding a sophisticated phishing scam involving fraudulent digital wedding invitations. Scammers are impersonating friends or relatives via social media platforms like Facebook and Zalo to send electronic wedding invites containing malicious links.

Once a recipient clicks the link, they may be redirected to fake websites that request login credentials, phone numbers, or OTP codes. In more severe cases, the links prompt users to download applications containing malware. These malicious apps can gain access to messages, contacts, and accessibility permissions, allowing criminals to monitor activities and steal funds from bank accounts.
