Hungarian art exhibitions open in Hódmezővásárhely and Budapest

The 72nd Vásárhely Autumn Exhibition has opened at the Alföldi Gallery, featuring 185 works by 149 artists. The exhibition runs until December 6 and includes works by contemporary artist Marcell Németh, known for his steel sculptures that explore the boundaries between two and three dimensions.

In Budapest, the Hungarian National Gallery has launched a new exhibition titled ‘The Devoted – Hungarian Female Artists in the 20th Century’. Running until February 14, 2027, the showcase highlights female painters from the first half of the 20th century, many of whom were prominent in their time but have since been overlooked by mainstream art history. The exhibition is curated by art historians Dr. Anna Kopócsy and Zsófia Drienyovszki.
