A IDEA Institute survey of Hungarian football fans shows a shift in party preference. By June 2026, 51% of fans support the Tisza Party while 28% back the ruling Fidesz‑KDNP coalition. Among Ferencváros (Fradi) supporters, however, 42% still favor Fidesz‑KDNP compared with 28% for Tisza.

The same poll noted that in October 2024, 48% of fans backed Fidesz‑KDNP and 30% backed Tisza, indicating a notable swing toward the opposition. Roughly 2.4 million adults—about 13% of Hungary’s adult population—identify as supporters of a domestic club, but only about 10% regularly follow the NB I league (around 800 000 viewers). A majority (57%) believe certain clubs, especially Ferencváros and Puskás Academy, have received preferential state funding.

Overall, the data suggest the Tisza Party is gaining traction among the broader football‑watching public, while Fidesz‑KDNP retains strong loyalty within the Ferencváros fan base.
