Hungarian Football Federation delays weekend league matches due to heatwave
The Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) altered the start times of the third and fourth round of the national football leagues, moving all fixtures to 17:30 to reduce electricity use amid an extreme heatwave and related energy‑supply concerns. The change, announced on Saturday, applies to matches in the first, second and third divisions.
MLSZ has not yet decided whether to postpone the upcoming weekend round of games. The federation said it is monitoring the weather and potential power‑grid strain before making a final decision, and will update its website when a ruling is reached.
