Hungarian government launches subsidy transparency map

The Hungarian government has launched an interactive map designed to increase transparency by consolidating data on state subsidies granted to civil organizations between 2022 and 2026. The platform features nearly 20,000 organizations that have received a total of approximately 400 billion forints in funding. Users can search the database by year, organization, funding source, and electoral district.

The initiative has drawn criticism from those who argue it may stigmatize certain groups. The list includes not only large organizations but also small-scale entities such as school foundations, animal welfare associations, and organizations supporting sick children.

Data from the platform shows that among organizations categorized under “hunting,” 295 entities have received a combined total of roughly 1.14 billion forints. Notably, the Koronás-bika Vadásztársaság, a group without its own hunting grounds, is listed as a top recipient, having received nearly 40 million forints in annual installments between 2022 and 2026.
