Prime Minister Viktor Orbán urged the Tisza‑government to announce that Hungary will not implement the EU migration pact that is set to take effect on June 12, saying the move is necessary to protect national sovereignty and to repatriate EU funds. Former minister Bóka János also criticized Minister Magyar Péter for not disclosing details of a deal with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, arguing that Hungary must retain full control over its borders.

The officials’ statements signal a continued clash with Brussels over migration policy, with the Hungarian leadership insisting that the country can decide who may enter and that any enforcement of the EU pact would compromise its autonomy.
