Hungarian Media Groups Restructure Leadership and Restart Public News Service

Central Médiacsoport announced a new organisational structure to strengthen its digital subscription business. Pető Péter will become digital subscription content and news director on 1 August 2026, overseeing the digital subscription strategy, the development of the 24 Extra brand and the News portfolio. The changes also see Bita Dániel taking over as editor‑in‑chief of 24.hu and Jankovics Márton becoming deputy editor‑in‑chief.

The state‑owned public broadcaster MTVA reported that its news service is being gradually relaunched across the M1 television channel, the Kossuth and Bartók radio stations and digital platforms after a temporary shutdown on 7 July. New news‑service principles introduced by CEO Horváth András will guide the restart, with news bulletins returning to Bartók Radio and simulcast on Kossuth Radio from 11 July, followed by the restoration of other radio and online news feeds.
