Hungarian Ministry of Interior files reports against National Sports Agency
The Hungarian Ministry of Interior has filed reports in five separate cases following an audit of the National Sports Agency Zrt. (NSÜ). According to Minister Gábor Pósfai, the investigation uncovered instances where the state was intentionally placed at a disadvantage or suffered significant financial loss regarding the management of state-owned properties and assets.
Key findings include overpriced procurements, such as a jump rope purchased for approximately 1.3 million forints, and controversial real estate utilization. In one instance, state property was leased through a series of short-term contracts—each lasting less than a year—despite the tenant having documented payment delays. The audit, which began in July, also examines the agency's contractual obligations and the management of strategic sports facilities and multifunctional halls. This follows the dismissal of NSÜ CEO Péter Bíró on September 7.
