Hungarian PM Magyar Péter silenced by Speaker Forsthoffer in parliament
During an extraordinary session of the Hungarian parliament, Prime Minister Magyar Péter attempted to respond to interpellations but was interrupted twice by Speaker Forsthoffer Ágnes, who eventually cut off his microphone. After the speaker’s warnings, the prime minister briefly tried to continue without a microphone but ceased speaking.
Later, Magyar Péter posted a joint Facebook photo with Forsthoffer, describing their brief reconciliation and emphasizing unity. Political analysts highlighted the rarity of a parliamentary speaker revoking a prime minister’s speaking rights, noting it as an uncommon clash in Hungarian politics.
