Hungarian police arrest British fugitive wanted by FBI

Hungarian authorities, acting on intelligence from the FBI, have apprehended a 60-year-old British citizen wanted for decades in the United States. The individual is identified as one of the most wanted criminals, having been under international arrest warrants since 2006.

The suspect is accused of crimes involving the sexual abuse of minors and illegal sexual coercion. He reportedly fled the United States in September 2004 and has been sought by the Washington Interpol office since March 2006.

Following a tip that the fugitive was traveling through Hungary, the National Investigation Bureau coordinated with local police in Hajdú-Bihar County. Officers intercepted the suspect's vehicle, which bore British license plates, near Polgár after tracking his movement from the Romanian border toward the M3 motorway.
