Hungarian Prime Minister's Office releases interactive map of civil funding

The Hungarian Prime Minister's Office has released an interactive map to provide transparency regarding state civil support programs. The database tracks approximately 400 billion forints in funding distributed between 2022 and 2026 from various central budget sources, including the Urban Civil Fund, the Rural Civil Fund, the National Cooperation Fund, and the National Cultural Fund.

The initiative follows investigations and reports suggesting that funds may have been disproportionately allocated to organizations with personal, organizational, or public ties to former governing parties. The government noted that some beneficiaries possessed short organizational histories and lacked verifiable community activity compared to other local organizations performing essential social, cultural, or sporting roles.

The map allows users to view funding amounts, sources, and timing broken down by electoral districts. The stated goal is to make the use of public funds more transparent and to distinguish organizations performing genuine community work from those potentially motivated by political or financial interests.
