Hungarian public media conducts audit and suspends staff

Duna Médiaszolgáltató Nonprofit Zrt. is conducting a comprehensive audit of Hungary's public media, examining economic and legal issues alongside the organizational and personal backgrounds of those involved in previous propaganda operations.

As part of this internal investigation, several employees have been suspended from their duties. Decisions have already been made regarding leaders at MTI and various staff members within radio and television departments. These suspensions, which include editors and staff from Kossuth Rádió, currently involve a 30-day period of being relieved from work while receiving pay.

The interim management noted that the audit process is ongoing, with further decisions expected as evaluations continue. Depending on the final findings, the employment of suspended individuals may be terminated, though the company stated that continued employment remains a possibility. The management also reserved the right to pursue disciplinary or legal action based on information uncovered during the later stages of the audit. Despite these personnel changes, the company maintains that daily operations and service quality remain unaffected.
