Hungarian towns host family festivals and creative workshops this summer

Békéscsaba celebrated the annual Csaba Day in Szent István Square with a two‑day program aimed at families. Children took part in traditional playground games and craft activities, while locals queued for the famed Csaba slice cake and sausage tasting. Mayor Szarvas Péter highlighted the event’s goal of reviving the city’s historic name and providing a communal experience. The festivities concluded with a Hungária tribute concert in the evening.

In Kecskemét, the Cifrapalota museum ran a summer series of creative workshops for children. Weekly sessions for ages 3‑6 (Cifra Mesék) and 7‑10 (Cifra Galeri) offered hands‑on art projects, with participants collecting stamps in a "passport" and receiving a gift after earning five. The program, led by Merinu Éva, cost 800 HUF per child and aimed to engage youngsters in the arts during the school break.
