Hungarian wine festivals celebrate Szekszárd harvest and Szeged dates
The Szekszárd wine region recently held its Harvest Days from September 17-20, featuring music, dance, and a record-breaking harvest parade. During the event, the Alisca Wine Order inducted four new wine knights: Petra Tischler, András Hochsteiger, Krisztina Rosta, and Ákos Garai.
Vilmos Ferencz, Grand Master of the Alisca Wine Order, highlighted the region's unique terroir, noting that the diverse topography of multiple hills and varied soil structures—ranging from loess to clay—contribute to the high quality of the local wine production.
In Szeged, organizers have announced the dates for the 31st Szeged Wine Festival, which is scheduled to take place from May 20-30, 2027. The 11-day event will be held at Dóm Square and Széchenyi Square, with musical performers including ByeAlex, Mehringer, and Parno Graszt already confirmed.
