Hungary Allocates Nearly 700 Million HUF to Judit Polgár's Chess Development Programme

The Hungarian government approved almost 700 million forint in state support for JPF World Kft., the company owned by former world‑champion Judit Polgár, to expand the Chess Palace (Sakkpalota) programme. The funding is scheduled as 120 million forint in 2022, 241 million in 2023 and 331 million in 2024, and is intended to develop mathematical thinking among children aged four to ten, with more than 50 000 participants each year.

Polgár’s commercial ventures reported close to 171 million forint in revenue and about 130 million forint in profit last year. In parallel, Prime Minister Péter Magyar has met with Polgár to discuss her possible appointment as interim president of the republic pending the adoption of a new constitution, a suggestion that has been publicly raised by several figures in the cultural and sports sectors.
