Hungary infrastructure: Road and rail services to resume in September
Several transportation infrastructure projects in Hungary are set to reach milestones on September 1. In Győr, traffic on Zrínyi út is scheduled to return to its original route, including bus services, following road renovations. The project experienced a two-week delay due to unexpected utility issues, including three water pipe bursts and a previously unknown sewage line fault.
Simultaneously, Tiszaújváros is reintegrating into the national railway network with the reopening of the Tiszaújváros–Miskolc line. To support this, a new feeder bus service, route 89, will operate 15 times daily to connect passengers with arriving and departing trains. Minister of Transport and Investment Dávid Vitézy stated the goal is to provide a competitive alternative to other transport modes by ensuring seamless transfers between the station and the city.
