Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orbán has announced a major reorganization of the nation's diplomatic service. As part of this restructuring, 34 out of 138 mission heads, including ambassadors to several key nations, have been recalled. The dismissals are attributed to a loss of political and professional credibility, as well as a failure to effectively represent Hungarian interests.

The ministry is also conducting an extensive internal audit, which has involved reviewing approximately 100,000 documents and the withdrawal of roughly 1,400 diplomatic passports due to alleged misuse. Orbán noted that the government is moving toward a 4+1 year rotation system for ambassadors to ensure they maintain strong ties with Hungary.

New appointments have already been proposed, including historian Balázs Ablonczy for the post in Paris and Miklós Mitrovics for Warsaw. Orbán emphasized that Hungary is re-establishing its presence within the EU, NATO, and regional frameworks like the Visegrád Group (V4), aiming for a more constructive and proactive international role.
