Mayor Dr. Gergely Tóth of Keszthely asked the University of Agricultural Sciences (MATE) to reopen its campus beach, a long‑standing swimming spot for students and locals. He emphasized that the site remains university property and should stay free or low‑cost for public use, offering alternatives if the university plans to sell the land.

On June 27, two municipal pools will open in Hungary: the Dávodi thermal beach in Bács‑Kiskun County, featuring mineral‑rich waters praised for therapeutic effects, and the Szekszárd Family‑Friendly Beach and Adventure Pool in Tolna County, which resumed operations after technical upgrades and safety work. Both facilities aim to provide seasonal swimming and recreation for residents and visitors.
