Hungary convenes extraordinary parliamentary session as gold‑convoy probe and reforms dominate agenda

The Hungarian government announced a special press conference covering the newly launched “Tisztítótűz” operation, plans to amend the constitution, the ongoing gold‑convoy investigation and a range of transport and investment decisions.

Deputy Prime Minister Ruff Bálint called a two‑day extraordinary parliamentary session for June 29‑30 to debate several proposals, including the dissolution of the Sovereignty Protection Office, the opening of secret‑agent files, an amendment to the extra‑profit tax and other legislative items.

Parliament is set to vote next week on the dissolution of the Sovereignty Protection Office alongside other bills, underscoring a packed agenda of political and institutional reforms.
