June 2026 retail sales in Hungary grew 4.0 % year‑on‑year on raw data and 3.0 % after calendar‑adjustment, pushing total turnover to 1.78 trillion forint. Food‑mix stores saw a 1.8 % rise, non‑food retailers a 5.1 % increase, while fuel stations slipped 0.2 %. Online parcel and internet retail volumes rose 5.2 % and vehicle‑parts sales jumped 14 %.

Industrial production in June rose 10.1 % YoY on raw figures and 4.1 % after seasonal adjustment, though month‑on‑month output fell 1.4 % after correcting for extra workdays. Growth was strongest in vehicle, computer, electronics, optics and electrical‑equipment manufacturing; food, beverage and tobacco output declined.

July 2026 inflation slowed to 1.2 % YoY, the lowest level in a decade. Food prices fell 1.1 % YoY, while services rose 4.7 % YoY. Hungary’s inflation remains well below the Eurozone’s 2.9 % rate, aided by controlled fuel prices and a strong forint.
