Hungary vehicle tax installment deadline ends June 30

Almost 37,000 Hungarian taxpayers have applied for a five‑month, penalty‑free installment plan to pay roughly 1.5 billion forints of vehicle tax. The deadline to request this special repayment scheme is June 30; after that date no applications will be accepted, even with supporting documentation.

Requests are processed automatically without the need for justification and can be submitted through the NAV‑Mobile app, the most popular channel. Around 32,000 of the received applications have already been approved. Companies may negotiate separate payment arrangements with the tax authority. Taxpayers who neither pay nor request an installment face late‑payment penalties and risk having their vehicle deregistered.
