Hungary's Széchenyi Kártya program urges firms to finalize 3% loan applications by July 2026
The Hungarian CreditExpert warns companies that submitted Széchenyi Kártya loan applications by June 18 must keep documentation current; otherwise contract signing may be delayed. They have until July 14 2026 to finalize agreements for the preferential 3 % interest loans, which can be up to HUF 150 million. A recent NAV “null” tax clearance and prompt response to any bank information requests are essential.
The government has changed the liquidity‑loan component of the program to track the three‑month BUBOR rate, while investment‑loan products retain the fixed 3 % rate. VOSZ secretary‑general László Perlusz says the strong forint has eroded exporters’ profits and urges temporary measures, such as allowing some tax and contribution payments in euros, and calls for overall interest‑rate reductions to support competitiveness.
