Hunting seasons begin in Pennsylvania and Maryland

Archery deer season has commenced in Pennsylvania, running from October 3 through November 20, 2026. This season marks the first year following legislation that expands Sunday hunting opportunities to include all Sundays within the season dates, excluding migratory game bird seasons. The season will reopen from December 26, 2026, to January 24, 2027.

In Maryland, the first segment of the muzzleloader deer season is scheduled for October 22–24. In Region B, hunters may also use muzzleloaders for antlerless deer from October 26–31. Additionally, a statewide early muzzleloader season for sika deer is open from October 22–24, followed by an antlerless-only sika deer season from October 26–31.
