Hunucmá elder and Jardines de Satélite homeowner allege illegal eviction attempts

María Isela Uicab, a 69‑year‑old resident of Hunucmá, Yucatán, says she never requested no loan yet has received court notices about a supposed 150,000‑peso loan. The alleged debt threatens the loss of the house where she has lived for years. Uicab, who cannot read or write and suffers from diabetes and hypertension, reported that unknown people have visited her home warning of possible eviction. She pleaded, “Lo único que necesito es que me expliquen qué está pasando,” and is seeking legal assistance to clarify the process and protect her property.

Rosa Amelia Martínez, who inherited a house in the Jardines de Satélite neighborhood, reported that on 8 July intruders broke the property, claiming to have bought it. The home is currently subject to a succession lawsuit, which has prevented police and prosecutors from filing a formal complaint. Martínez and her sister, who live in different states, found the intruders refusing to leave, saying, “No nos vamos a salir, háganle como quieran.” They have asked municipal police and the state prosecutor’s office to intervene and investigate the occupants, fearing loss of the family home and illegal utility connections.
