Argentina blackout affects 1.5 million as Huracán defeats River Plate
A massive power outage in Argentina affected approximately 1.5 million people across Buenos Aires and the Greater Buenos Aires area. The blackout, which occurred on a Saturday night, caused significant disruption, leaving streets in darkness and affecting public services such as traffic lights. Approximately 600,000 users lost power during the night, with some outages lasting into Sunday morning. The National Regulator of Gas and Electricity (Enrege) is investigating the cause, noting failures in the 220 kV Malaver line and the Santa Rita substation. Authorities are seeking information from Sacme to determine responsibility.
