Hwaseong World Culture Festival celebrates global diversity
The 19th Hwaseong World Culture Festival took place on September 13 at Dowon Sports Park in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Under the theme “Sounds of the world, one voice,” the event brought together local residents and various expatriate communities living, studying, and working in the region.
Vietnamese Ambassador to South Korea Vu Ho attended the festival, where the Vietnamese community showcased traditional elements including the ao dai, conical hats, and local cuisine. The festival featured parades, art performances, and singing competitions for foreign residents, alongside cultural booths displaying traditional clothing, handicrafts, and food from many nations.
During his speech, Ambassador Vu Ho emphasized that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea is built not only on high-level agreements and economic projects but also on the sincere connections and mutual respect between the people of both nations. He noted that cultural exchanges help bridge differences in language and customs, fostering a harmonious and prosperous multicultural community.
